Man charged in connection to Belton homicide

UPDATE, Feb. 19 | Charles Baldwin Jr. was taken into custody Friday morning. He is charged with second-degree murder and being held on a $500,000 cash-only bond.

ORIGINAL STORY, Feb. 16 | Belton police still are searching for a man who has now been charged in a homicide that occurred last week.

Charles E. Baldwin Jr., 38, faces the following charges in connection to the Feb. 12 death of 39-year-old Christopher Bell in Cass County:

  • Murder;
  • Armed criminal action;
  • Unlawful use of a weapon;
  • Felon in possession of a weapon.

Baldwin is 6 feet tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has tattoos on his neck and face, including a “Gucci” tattoo above his right eye. Belton police said he drives a red BMW Sedan.
