Man charged in connection with shots fired at Clinton officers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 46-year-old man has been charged in connection with an incident where shots were fired at Clinton officers on Saturday. 

Rick Lee McCartney is charged with three counts of armed criminal action and three counts of first-degree assault. 

On Saturday, Clinton police officers responded to the 900 block of South Main Street for a disturbance call. When officers arrived they were shot at from the residence. 

Henry County deputies and Missouri Highway Patrol responded to assist. 

The suspect, McCartney, was taken into custody. No one was injured in the incident. 

McCartney’s bond is set at $500,000.
