KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Officers with the Clinton, Mo., Police Department were shot at Saturday while responding to a disturbance.

The police were called to 901 S. Main St. in Clinton around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Someone at the residence fired shots at the arriving officers, prompting Henry County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Missouri Highway Patrol to respond and assist.

There were no injuries to officers or the suspect, who was taken into custody, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page about the incident.

Two officers from Clinton have been shot and killed in the line of duty during the past year.

Gary Michael, 37, was killed Aug. 6 during a traffic stop and Christopher Morton, 30, was killed March 6 — and two other officers were injured — responding to a 911 call at a house.
