Gregory Wright II made it as far as Virginia. That's where his run from the law ended.
Wright is back in the Johnson County Jail and charged in the death of a Shawnee woman.
Prosecutors charged Wright Friday with first-degree murder in the death of Monica Lee.
Police found Lee dead on May 9 in her apartment in the 7500 block of Flint Street.
Lee's 2004 Honda Civic had been stolen. Wright is also charged with stealing Lee's car.
Police tracked down Wright after he was arrested in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Wright made his first court appearance Friday. Bond is set at $1 million.
