KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man paralyzed from the chest down in a 2013 shooting is accused of killing the man suspected of shooting him.

Bryant E. Robinson, 24, of Kansas City, Missouri, was charged in Jackson County Court with accessory second-degree murder, two counts of accessory armed action and one count of accessory first-degree assault.

Robinson allegedly shot and killed Michael Garrett, 40, and wounded a woman Monday near East 63rd Street and James A Reed Road in Kansas City.

Robinson rented a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck on April 1, according to court documents. A witness told police he saw the Dodge pickup truck traveling east on East 63rd Street next to a Ford Fusion.

The witness said he saw the light wooden foregrip of an SKS rifle protruding from the rear window of the truck.

Numerous gunshots were fired into a Ford Fusion with Garrett and a woman inside, according to court documents. Police found Garrett dead in the car at East 63rd Street and Manchester Avenue.

The woman driving the car was injured, but survived.

Surveillance video showed a wheelchair in the back of the pickup truck.

The truck was returned to a rental car company the day of the shooting.

Garrett was a suspect in the 2013 shooting that paralyzed Robinson, who refused to help police find the gunman.
