KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A motorcyclist was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 70 eastbound at Beardsley Road Tuesday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly after 8 a.m.
The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department said a red/black Honda CVR600F motorcycle was traveling eastbound on I-70 on the exit ramp for Beardsley Road.
The motorcyclist failed to negotiate the curve of the exit ramp, striking the concrete bridge rail.
The motorcyclist was totally ejected off the motorcycle and off the bridge, landing on the railroad tracks below, police said.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said this was the 24th fatality of the year compared to 39 at this time last year.
The investigation is still ongoing.
