UPDATE, 5:49 p.m. | A Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department spokesperson told KSHB 41 News the victim was transported to the hospital. Preliminary information indicates the injury is non-life-threatening.

EARLIER | One man was wounded by gunfire Thursday afternoon in Kansas City, Missouri.

The shooting happened about 4:20 p.m. in the 5900 block of East 20th Street.

No information was immediately available on what led to the shooting.

Police officers, detectives and crime scene investigators are at the scene.
