KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man wanted for questioning in a Belton, Missouri homicide is in jail after a high-speed chase with officers in Platte County.

Joshua Hance, 34, of Kansas City, Missouri, is charged in Platte County with tampering and resisting arrest.

The charges come after Hance drove a stolen Nissan Versa more than 100 miles per hour Wednesday on Interstate 29 while trying to get away from pursuing officers.

Hance drove over stop sticks while speeding around KCI and he stopped the car in a nearby restaurant parking lot.

Court documents state Hance ran from the car, but was quickly arrested.

Hance would not give officers his name, but fingerprints revealed his identity and the information he was a person of interest in a homicide in Belton.

Jeremy Kitscher, 40, was shot to death on March 20.

The Cass County prosecutor's office reviewed the Belton police case file in the Kitscher homicide and has not charged Hance with murder.

Hance has been charged in Cass County Court with felon in possession of a firearm.
