KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City, Missouri man is facing charges after he allegedly attempted to hide a gun after shots were fired on the Country Club Plaza Tuesday.

Quinton Shelby, 18, is charged with tampering with physical evidence.

According to court documents, Shelby was walking with a group of people on the Plaza when one of the men in the group fired shots at two unknown males.

Witnesses and Shelby both told investigators the group started to run and the shooter handed the gun to Shelby. Shelby allegedly hid the gun underneath some mulch between two buildings.

Shelby said he then attempted to hide in a nearby parking garage, but he was eventually found and arrested.

Court documents state that investigators found the gun hidden under some mulch, which contained live rounds that matched shell casings found at the shooting scene.
