KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Police blocked off a residential street Wednesday afternoon after finding a woman shot in the street.
Officers were called to the intersection of 50th and Chestnut just before 3:30 p.m. on a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they found a woman in her 40s with gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Thursday, police identified the victim as Bernice Brown, 43. Prosecutors charged 20-year-old Tyjuan K. Caldwell with second-degree murder in her death.
