KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A giant inflatable colon that was stolen earlier this month in Brookside has been recovered, Kansas City police said Monday.

The colon, valued at $4,000, was found at a vacant home in the 7100 block of Virginia Avenue. Police do not have anyone in custody in the incident.

The 10-foot inflatable colon, which is owned by the Cancer Coalition, is used to teach about colon cancer in races across the country. It was sent to Kansas City for the Sister’s Living Beyond the Ribbon 5K on Oct. 20.

The colon was sitting in the bed of a parked pickup truck when it was allegedly taken.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
