Multiple car dealerships have had break-ins within three weeks. One of the suspects stole a surveillance camera, and the owner hopes his image can lead to an arrest.
It’s been a rough summer for Hillside Motors. The windows and doors have been broken, but what happened this week tops the list.
“Monday morning the front door of our business was broken. Three individuals came in, looked around. We don’t believe they got anything,” said Blair Seabaugh, owner of Hillside Motors.
The next day it happened again.
“Then the next night, we believe one of the same individuals came back and took one of the security cameras off the back of the building,” said Seabaugh.
What the suspect did not know was the camera he stole was still recording as he drove off.
“I was watching the video live from my home while it was happening," Seabaugh said.
Hillside Motors isn't the only car shop being hit.
At Trust Truck and Auto about a mile away, a car was broken into and several pots were damaged last week. They think it’s the same person.
“We work hard and we try to make sure we help people and our customers, and these people come by and it costs us a lot more money and we can’t operate like we should," Seabaugh said.
