A former Truman Medical Center-Lakewood employee has been charged with sodomizing a patient.

Luis Soliz, 49, has been charged with first-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual misconduct.

Soliz, a medical care technician, was fired after an alleged incident at the Long Term Care facility at TMC Lakewood.

On July 29, a nurse from the Long Term Care center walked into a resident’s room and saw a medical care technician having inappropriate contact with a resident, according to a news release from TMC.

The nurse followed safety protocols, and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services hotline and police were called.

According to a release from the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office, the victim has limited ability to use her arms or legs. Soliz was allegedly confronted about the incident and told a second person, "It's true. I've had this problem for awhile."

Prosecutors have requested a $75,000.
