KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police have released surveillance video showing a subject walking down the street near where a utility worker was killed.
The surveillance video is from a parking lot near where Johnathon Porter was killed early Tuesday morning.
Porter, 23, was doing utility work for Spire Energy Tuesday morning near 9th Street and Brooklyn Avenue.
Friends and co-workers say a man walked up to Porter and asked for a cigarette . When Porter told the subject he didn’t have one, the suspect opened fire, killing Porter.
