Woman dead after shooting near Kansas City gas station

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police said a woman was shot and killed early Saturday morning.

Police went to a gas station at 59th Street and Troost Avenue just after 1:00 a.m.

The woman was found inside a vehicle in the parking lot.

On Monday, police identified the victim as 27-year-old Shea D. Henry.

Police said a person of interest was in custody.

This is Kansas City, Missouri's 40th homicide of 2020. At this same time last year, 37 people were killed. This is the highest year-to-date number in at least the last five years.
