KANSAS CITY, Mo. — U.S. Senator-elect for Kansas Roger Marshall has pledged his financial support for President Donald Trump.

Marshall said he is donating $20,000 to the Republican National Convention legal fund to “ensure our democracy is protected.”

In two tweets Tuesday afternoon, Marshall said he believes President Trump’s team will fully investigate every claim of voter fraud, which his donation will help them do.

“Every LEGAL vote should be counted. And it should not be hard. Transparency should not be hard. Doing those two things at the same time should not be hard. And it’s necessary in earning the American people’s trust,” Marshall wrote.

Marshall defeated Democrat Barbara Bollier Tuesday for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Pat Roberts.

On the other side of the state line, Republican Sam Graves, who was reelected to his seat in the House of Representatives for Missouri’s 6th Congressional District, also expressed support for President Trump.

“The integrity of our elections matters. I stand with President Trump. Every legal vote must be counted in complete transparency. The American people deserve free and fair elections,” Graves wrote.
