A pair of shootings less than a mile apart in east Kansas City overnight left one man dead and another critically injured, police said Monday morning.
The victim of a shooting at 40th and Hardesty around 2 a.m. was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Thirty minutes later, a few blocks away at 39th and Cypress, a double shooting took the life of one man and injured another. The surviving victim was in stable condition, per the latest report.
Police identified the victim of the 39th and Cypress shooting as Eugene Webb, 30.
Police have yet to confirm if the two shootings are related or if any of the involved parties knew one another.
There has been no information regarding suspects, arrests or the circumstance surrounding either shooting.
