Monday night crash in KCMO, leaves 1 person dead, hospitalized baby

UPDATE, 2:56 p.m., Aug. 12 | KCPD identified the victim in this crash as 22-year-old Arisdelsi Morales-Arreguin on Wednesday afternoon.

EARLIER | The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department said a three-vehicle crash involving a stolen vehicle Monday night left one person dead and also landed a baby in the hospital.

Police said the driver of a Jeep reported stolen from Overland Park ran a stop sign shortly before 7:30 p.m. at East 23rd Street and Lister Avenue, striking a Chevrolet Impala. The Impala then hit a GMC Acadia.

The passenger in the Impala died and the driver was last listed in critical condition at an area hospital. A baby that was in the Impala also transported to Children's Mercy Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Everyone in the GMC Acadia suffered non life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the stolen Jeep, which also hit two parked cars on a street, fled the scene.

One passenger in the Jeep was taken into custody for questioning.
