KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two people were injured Monday night in a house fire in De Soto.

Crews responded shortly after 8 p.m. to the 8500 block of Rik Mar Drive, where an adult female jumped from a second-floor window and suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to a Northwest Consolidated Fire District spokesperson.

Another person was taken to an area hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Six people were displaced due to the blaze.

The fire is believed to have started on the second floor, but the spokesperson said investigators are still trying to determine the cause.

Lenexa, Olathe, Shawnee and Johnson County MED-ACT crews assisted the Northwest Consolidated Fire District.
