KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Boulevardia starts Friday afternoon and crews have been putting the finishing touches on the festival.

Boulevardia Events Director Nathan Matney said in this sixth year, organizers have really tried to focus on more space for easier traffic flow, and more places to cool off.

"We're kind of always trying to look for ways to improve crowds and stuff." Matney said. "We've expanded into Hy-Vee Arena. That's a great addition we can let people go to if it does get hot for some reason. But we also have the KC Royals misting tent which is a great place to go inside. Of course any of the shops that are along the Stock Yards District they can go into as well."

The festival is a rain or shine event. On Friday, Boulevardia is open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Tickets are now $35 at the door. Children 12 and under get in free.

There are several different events happening, including music, beer, food trucks, and even a silent disco.
