KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Place for Mom, an online-based service provider connecting families to senior care resources, plans to grow in Overland Park.

On Tuesday, A Place for Mom announced plans to open a new office in the Kansas City suburb. The office could eventually house new jobs.

“We are committed to creating a world-class operation in the Kansas City area as we continue to transform our business to best serve our customers,” A Place for Mom CEO Larry Kutscher said in a release. “Overland Park will be home to several key areas of our business that will have a direct impact on our company's mission to empower families to make informed and confident senior housing decisions that best fit their unique needs.”

The release about the announcement says regional agencies, including the Kansas Department of Commerce, the city of Overland Park, and the Kansas City Area Development Council played a role in landing the company.

The company, which already has offices in Seattle, New York City and Naples, Florida, uses senior living experts across the country to connect families with more than 16,000 provider communities in the United States and Canada.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
