A Walk to Remember began at the Kansas City Zoo Saturday morning.
The walk honors the men and women who gave their lives in service.
So far this year, 48 law enforcement officers have given their lives in the line of duty. This is a 30 percent increase from this time last year.
Registration began at 7 a.m. and the 5k started at 8 a.m.
