KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Blind Box BBQ and The Pressed Pig celebrated their grand opening Monday inside Nebraska Furniture Mart.
The new barbecue and coffee bar concepts had a soft opening last week before holiday shopping started on Black Friday.
Blind Box BBQ is touted as a "modern take on classic Kansas City barbecue." Its first location at 13214 W. 62nd Terrace in Shawnee opened in 2015.
At Nebraska Furniture Mart, it occupies 7,000 square feet of the stores massive 450,000 square feet total.
Blind Box BBQ at NFM features a bar, a patio and multiple TVs.
"We wanted to give our customers a place to land, to think about purchases and to have a better experience overall," store manager Ethan Stover said in a press release.
Customers will be able to buy a glass of wine or beer at Blind Box BBQ and "sip while they shop."
The menu will include barbecue staples such as pulled pork, beef brisket, burnt ends and smoked sausage.
Joe Tulipana, owner and operator of Blind Box BBQ, said he's hopeful Blind Box will "appeal to both Kansas City shoppers and visitors alike, elevating their experience with delicious barbecue and libations."
Customers will be able to order espresso drinks as well as homemade pastries and desserts from The Pressed Pig.
The Pressed Pig will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Blind Box BBQ will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Both eateries will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.
