BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - Thirty Blue Springs school children are participating in the annual Shop with a Cop program at the Target store Saturday morning.
The program allows disadvantaged kids to shop with an officer and purchase $150.00 worth of holiday gifts for their families.
The Shop with a Cop program is an opportunity for the kids to socialize with officers in a positive atmosphere, and reinforce the fact that police officers are friends in the community.
This is the seventh year Blue Springs has offered the program.
After shopping with an officer, the kids also get a few special gifts for themselves.
