KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two boats collided on the Lake of the Ozarks in Miller County, Missouri, around 10 p.m. Saturday night, injuring several people and killing another.

A boat carrying four men from Missouri was traveling downstream and a boat carrying two people from Atlantic, Iowa, was traveling upstream when the two watercraft collided at the four-mile mark of the Osage Arm of the lake.

Two of the people in the first boat sustained minor injuries and one sustained serious injuries and had to be flown to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

The other occupant of that boat was missing until around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday when his body was located in 80 feet of water. He was identified as 39-year-old Jason Russell of Eugene, Missouri.

The woman in the second boat sustained moderate injuries and the man minor injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol did not list a reason for the crash.
