KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Kansas, police are investigating a suspicious death after a body was found in a wooded area on Monday afternoon.
Police were called to North 38th Street and State Avenue around 2:30 p.m., where they found a deceased man in the woods behind a cemetery.
The man has been identified as Kevin L. Murphy, 41, of Kansas City, Kansas.
KCKPD said Murphy was reported missing on July 24, having not been seen since July 9.
Investigators said the body was severely decomposed, so an autopsy will be needed to determine cause of death.
