Police chased down a vehicle stolen from their own parking lot Monday morning, arresting the driver after a highway pursuit.
The black SUV, which apparently belonged to a police dispatcher, was parked overnight at the KCPD headquarters downtown. It's unclear when it was stolen, but Raytown police spotted it near the stadiums early Monday morning and gave chase.
Officers from KCPD joined and managed to knock out three of the four tires, but the driver kept rolling on sparks down I-70. The officers used bean bags to shoot out the car windows to get pepper spray inside.
A K9 officer eventually helped arrest the driver once he stopped near I-70 and The Paseo.
There was no immediate information on the suspect or what charges he may face.
