KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two cars crashed in the intersection at 12th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue on Saturday before the wreck spilled off the road and crashed into an occupied apartment at the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge.
Police said the crash happened around 5:00 a.m. when a westbound Chevrolet Corvette collided with a northbound Chevy Cruze.
Both vehicles wound up being wrecked into the building on the northwest corner of the intersection.
The driver of the Cruze fled on foot, while the two occupants of the Corvette were transported by private vehicle to an area hospital, where one remains in critical condition.
