KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Hours before the parking lots at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, open Sunday morning, crews from Martz Brothers Lawn Care will work around the clock clearing snow from around the stadium.

“Freezing rain, sleet and snow, we're getting it all,” Jim Martz pointed out.

Forecasts call for rain to turn to freezing rain Friday and then snow to pile up Saturday. There could be up to six inches of accumulation in areas.

Martz is keeping a close eye on the timing of everything. His team staged equipment at the stadium Thursday and will spread rock salt as the rain begins to freeze.

“We’ve got to keep that treatment down on the surfaces so that when it does turn to snow Saturday, we're not trying to push snow off of a skating rink,” Martz said.

The good news, according to Martz, is that the heaviest weather should move out of the area Saturday, giving his crews time to clear the lots before the playoff game between the Chiefs and the Houston Texans.

Here’s a schedule of events for the game:
