The newest trend in gaming goes way beyond playing Wii.

It's called an escape room, and there are now four of them in the Kansas City metro with a fifth on the way.

"I think people are just looking for something more to do than just bowling or go to the movies," said Maranda Mills, owner of Clue Pursuit, the latest escape room to open in KC's Westport area.

Clue Pursuit features three escape rooms; groups of players get one hour to find the clues that lead them out of the rooms.

"Look at everything, because everything's in the room for one reason or another, whether it's a red herring or it's pertinent to the game," said manager Andrew Corrao of the game.

Escape room games attract everyone from teenagers to office workers looking for team building exercises.

Clue Pursuit is open Wednesday through Sunday in Westport.

It's suggested gamers bring at least three players. Prices range from $22 - $28 per person.
