Ready to be dazzled? Head downtown!
For the fourth year, from Crown Center to the River Market, the holidays are shining bright.
New this year, Washington and his horse are being kept company by a lighting display and Christmas carols in Washington Square Park.
And this is just one of many sparkling stops along the way.
You can experience a taste of downtown living on Saturday, December 9, with the free Urban Homes Tour.
You can jump on a jolly trolley along Grand Boulevard and enjoy the sights for free on Saturday nights.
You can Rock the Red Kettle with a concert tonight, Friday December 1, in the Power and Light District.
Of course, the old favorites are there too like the Mayor’s Tree and the amazing decorations in Union Station.
According to Jessica Blubaugh of Visit KC, it is all about keeping the downtown in revitalization mode, creating and maintaining a true sense of community.
Maybe that song from the 60s had it right:
// The lights are much brighter there
You can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares
So, go downtown! //
You’ll be dazzled!
