Posted

A 27 year-old Sedalia man was injured in a deputy-involved shooting shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday, and was flown by air ambulance to a Columbia hospital.

Pettis County Sheriff Kevin Bond says the Sheriff's office was responding to a call on State Route U, south of Sedalia when a deputy, and trooper from the Missouri Highway Patrol, encountered an armed man in front of a residence.

The man fired multiple rounds, and the deputy returned fire, striking the man.

He was taken to a Columbia hospital, but his condition has not been given.

No other information was released, and the investigation continues.
