A downed tree blocked traffic westbound at Rockhill Road and Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd.
And according to Evergy, as of 4:30 a.m., more than 2,300 customers were without power.
By 5:30 a.m., power outages had dropped to less than 400 in the KC Metro.
Storms are expected to taper off by the afternoon and flooding is the greatest risk with the system.
We'll continue tracking developments throughout the morning.
