An early morning house fire has destroyed a house near 165th and Metcalf in Overland Park. OPFD investigators are calling the fire arson. Firefighters believed the fire to be suspicious in nature because they initially found two fires in separate locations.

Shortly after 6 a.m. on Saturday, firefighters responded and crews reported seeing smoke and fire showed from the two story single family residence. Crews also responded to a small fire on the exterior of a detached building on the property.

Crews quickly got the fire under control and focused on hotspots. The Overland Park Fire Department is still investigating.

No injuries were reported.  The home is a total loss.
