KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Fire crews battled a fire in the former foundry at Lexington Ave. and Elm St. in Independence, Missouri, for more than eight hours Saturday night.

The building was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived and a short time later it was determined to be structurally dangerous, so crews were ordered out and fought the fire defensively.

Video captured by a witness shows flames and smoke billowing out of the structure.

City officials say there was no power to the building, which suffered significant damage.

The fire was finally under control about 6:30 a.m. on Sunday.

No injuries were reported and the cause is undetermined.
