A former Johnson County Sheriff’s Office deputy pleaded guilty on Wednesday in a domestic violence case.

Eric Walker, 38, pleaded guilty to aggravated battery causing bodily harm, a felony. As part of a plea deal, prosecutors dropped the other two original charges of aggravated domestic battery and criminal restraint.

According to the criminal complaint, Walker choked his wife during an incident in May.

He was placed on administrative leave after his arrest but has not been with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office since Nov. 22.

Walker is set to be sentenced on March 18.
