Parson’s visit comes after two KCPD officers were shot in one day on July 2. While one of the officers was treated and released, the other officer required emergency surgery and remains hospitalized.
The visit also comes less than a week after the Department of Justice announced plans to send additional resources and agents to the city to combat the city’s spike in violent crime.
