Missing teen from Grandview located safe

UPDATE, 1:40 p.m. | Grandview Police say Nelson was told he was on social media. On Monday, he took a ride to the Grandview Police Department where he turned himself in. Police say he was in good health.

EARLIER | Grandview, Missouri, police are asking for the public’s assistance finding missing 17-year-old De’Sean Nelson.

Police said he left his home around 7:30 a.m. Sunday to find his Grandview High School cross country track practice.

He was last seen on foot in the 8000 block of East 130th Court in Grandview.

Nelson was alone, and hasn’t been heard from since.

His family was not able to find him and reported him missing to police.

Police said Nelson is cognitively delayed.

He is about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs around 130 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. He also wears glasses.

Grandview police said he was last seen wearing a gray Avengers shirt, gray cargo shorts, green Nike socks and gray tennis shows. He was carrying a light blue and black backpack.
