KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One local veteran is headed back to Vietnam where as as soldier he listened to the Chiefs last Super Bowl game.

Bill McIntosh, along with his family and friends, are watching the Super Bowl on television in Vietnam.

McIntosh is a Vietnam veteran and listened to the game the last time the Chiefs were in the Super Bowl 50 years ago, in Vietnam.

"We had to listen to it on the radio, there was no television," said McIntosh.

He hopes being in the same country, will bring the team luck. But they'll have to wake up early because of a 12-hour time difference.

"We'll have to get up early, but it will be fun to watch," added McIntosh.

Because of a Groupon discount, McIntosh is traveling with about a dozen of his friends and family.

"When I saw this thing on Groupon that said 900-bucks for this trip, roundtrip, hotels, and airfares, that's a good deal," said McIntosh.

"We're looking forward to going and we've been to Europe but we've never been to Asia so this will be a different kind of trip," said John McIntosh, Bill's brother.

It's a throwback trip these die hard fans hope will bring the same luck to the Chiefs as when they won the Super Bowl 50 years ago.

McIntosh told 41 Action News they will be in the country for about 10 days.
