Tucked deep inside the winding hallways of Hallmark is a holiday operation that would make Santa a little bit jealous.

It’s a partnership between two organizations that are both synonymous with the holiday season: Hallmark and the Salvation Army.

Starting on this Giving Tuesday, some 500 Hallmark employees will volunteer their time to wrap toys provided by the Salvation Army.

About 6,000 toys will be shipped out over the next three weeks or so.

So, who gets the goodies? Most of them will be delivered to children of parents who are incarcerated.

The parent gets a chance to pick a toy from a Salvation Army catalog. Then, a happy Hallmark-er will wrap the present, attach a card from mom or dad, then send it along.

The children will likely never know about the Hallmark elves behind the operation, but for the kids, it is a way to have their parent be part of the holiday.

And, this year is extra special, because this marks the 100th anniversary of wrapping paper itself -- as created by Hallmark!

All in all, it is a wonderful way to wrap up the holidays for so many deserving children around Kansas City.
