The devastation in Haiti continues in the wake of Hurricane Matthew.

The death toll has climbed past 800 in the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.

Monday morning workers from relief agency Heart to Heart International are leaving KCI to help Haiti recover. This is the Lenexa-based organization's third group to make the trip.

Volunteers say debris and flooding in the country's mountains are all obstacles for authorities and volunteers to get to the hardest hit areas.

The three leaving Monday are heading to the southwest region, Jeremie.

Dr. Gary Morsch said one of the country's biggest worries is now is a cholera outbreak. He said 13 people have already died from the disease.

Morsch along with two others are bringing supplies including salt rehydration packs to help those fighting cholera. They hope to help in more ways than one.

"We really felt compelled in a deeper way to make sure we were caring for the deeper needs of people in that community," said David Sharpes, pastor at College Church of the Nazarene.
