KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Hillside Motel, located at 6305 Blue Pkwy., was demolished Monday at 9 a.m.
Kansas City spokesman John Baccala said the blighted roadside stop once welcomed travelers to rest on comfortable waterbeds in rooms with color TVs, but in recent years had been "plagued by vagrants, vandals and illegal dumping."
Councilwoman Alissia Canady represents residents in this part of Kansas City.
“It has been an eyesore for the nearby neighborhoods for some time and I know they will, and I will, be glad to see it go,” Canady said in a press release. “I know drivers using Blue Parkway every day will be happy to see it go too.”
