KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An advisory committee tasked with deciding how to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is one step closer to making its recommendation.
On Wednesday the committee narrowed down its proposals to five:
- Paseo Blvd.
- Linwood Blvd.
- 63rd St.
- 12th St.
- The new KCI Airport
“I really do love the idea of people seeing the name Dr. Martin Luther King as they enter into our city,” said Donna Simon, a co-chair of the advisory group.
VOTE: tonight the #MLK advisory committee narrowed its recommendations down. What street would you like to see renamed? (Not listed is 12th Street, which is also an option) @41actionnews

The advisory committee has been meeting over the last few months, holding public hearings as well. They could vote as early as Sunday as to what they would like to recommend to Kansas City Mayor Sly James.
