Icy road leads to multi-vehicle crash Friday night in Lenexa

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An icy stretch of highway caused a three-vehicle crash Friday night in Lenexa.

The crash happened about 9:50 p.m. on the flyover ramp from southbound Interstate 35 to U.S. 69.

One person needed help getting out of their wrecked vehicle, but no serious injuries were reported.

Road crews were sent to the scene to treat the highway for slick spots.

With more freezing rain and sleet expected overnight, road conditions across Kansas City are likely to continue to deteriorate.

According to 41 Action News Chief Meteorologist Gary Lezak, several inches of snow are possible Saturday morning as the precipation changes over. But the storm system is tricky to track.
