Police find man safe in Silver Alert for missing man

UPDATE, 8:30 p.m. | Independence Police have safely located a man that prompted a Silver Alert Saturday.

EARLIER | INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- Independence Police have issued an Endangered Silver Alert for a missing elderly adult last seen at 8 a.m. Friday.

James Donald Lazenby was last seen Friday morning in the 400 block of South Lacy Rd. in Independence. 

Lazenby is described as a white male, 87 years-old, about 6" tall and 200 pounds. He has gray hair and gray eyes. 

Police did not have a description of his clothing, but he might be wearing glasses. He also suffers from significant memory loss.

He could possibly be driving in a maroon 1998 Chervrolet C1500 with Missouri license plate 5KK-154.

Lazenby was believed to have been heading to a medical appointment but never arrived.  His family has not been able to get a hold of him.  

Anyone who believes they saw Lazenby or his vehicle is encouraged to call 911 or contact the nearest law enforcement agency.
