Independence police locate missing woman, infant daughter

UPDATE, Dec. 11 | According to the Independence Police Department, Hannah and Janiyah were located and are safe.

ORIGINAL STORY, Dec. `10 | An Independence woman and her infant daughter have been reported missing by family.

The Independence Police Department asked for the public’s help Thursday to locate Hannah R. Roberts, 22, and her 3-month-old daughter Janiyah R. Roberts.

The mother and daughter were last seen around 10 p.m. Wednesday night at the family home in the 18600 block of East 25th Street in Independence.

Hannah left the house with Janiyah, saying she was going to pick up a friend and would return.

The mother and daughter have yet to return and family fears for her safety.

Hannah was driving a gray 2008 Chevy Malibu with red accents and Missouri license plate LB6P0R. The vehicle also had a white sunblock on the rear window.

Hannah, who was last seen wearing a gray Chiefs championship shirt and possibly black pants, is described as “average build” with long, curly blonde hair and a nose piercing.

Janiyah was wearing light pink footed pajamas with dark pink hearts. She weighs 10 to 12 pounds and has dark brown hair.
