A Kansas City man has been charged in a reported assault of an inmate in the Jackson County Detention Center.
John M. Tran, 20, faces first degree assault charges, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced on Wednesday.
Tran hit, kicked and banged the victim head, according to court records.
The victim was transported to the hospital.
Bond for Tran has been set to $100,000.
