KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Two Johnson County parents who were staring down a $132,000 bill for a damaged sculpture might finally be able to exhale.

Less than two months after Sarah Goodman’s son damaged a sculpture at the Tomahawk Ridge Community Center in Overland Park, the family's insurance company has paid the city $107,000 to cover the damage.

An Overland Park spokesman said the city is not seeking any other payment associated with the damage.

The original 41 Action News story in June went national with surveillance video showing the boy hugging the sculpture.
