JCCC preparing for changes to Kansas Conceal and Carry law

Johnson County Community College is taking proactive steps to prepare students and faculty on campus for the upcoming law change that will allow conceal and carry on campus.

Beginning July 1, all university campuses in Kansas must allow anyone over the age of 21 (who can lawfully carry a gun) to conceal and carry a gun on campus, the only exception being during an Adequate Security Measure (ASM), which may be activated during special events that include added security and metal detectors.

To prepare students and faculty for the change, JCCC has held a series of recent town halls on campus to answer any questions, along with creating a video to describe what will be legal, what will not be legal, and how to report anything suspicious.
