Man dies moments after being freed from SUV

UPDATE 3:46 p.m. | Police tell 41 Action News that the man fire crews freed from the SUV has died from his injuries.

That man was later identified as 23-year-old James A. Palmer III of Kansas City, Mo.

Police say a woman driving northbound on Euclid blew through the stop sign at 35th Street and struck the SUV. That woman's car ended on the embankment. She was also injured, though the extent of her injuries wasn't immediately known.

EARLIER | KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City fire crews freed a man who was pinned inside an SUV that rolled over Tuesday afternoon.

Crews were called to the intersection of 35th and Euclid just west of Highway 71 around 2:30 p.m. on a two-car wreck.

Once they arrived, they spent several minutes freeing a man who was stuck inside of an SUV that rolled over several times.

The extent of that man’s injuries wasn’t immediately available.

The second car involved in the wreck slid down an embankment toward Highway 71. A person in that car was also transported to an area hospital.

Police have shut down numerous roads in the area while they investigate the wreck.
